Mission Statement
At Peak Business Consultants, our objective is for our clients to always be in touch with the fiscal health of each aspect of their business, be supported in the many demands of managing a varied workforce, while being able to maintain their focus on running the business that they love.
We seek to work with small businesses in the seacoast area who are adding positively to their communities, socially, culturally, and/or environmentally. We enjoy forming collaborative relationships with our clients to fully understand their vision for the future, and helping them achieve new heights in the success of their business.
Maki Pombo, Managing Partner
Maki joined Peak Business Consultants in 2003 after managing a successful multi-site business for four years. She has been instrumental in the growth and continued success of Peak and in January of 2007 took over as managing partner. She has over a decade of successful experience in the areas of business and financial management. Maki joined Peak because she was committed to the mission, values and clients established by Peak’s founder Loren Pombo. Peak is a company that continually strives to do more than manage the financial and human resource needs of a client; it strives to become a valued partner to each of its clients, and takes pride in their success.
During her time as an undergraduate working towards a dual degree in Psychology and Outdoor Education, Maki developed leadership and team building skills that continue to serve her well. Whether working with business groups, educational groups, therapeutic groups, or adjudicated youth, Maki’s ability to understand the group dynamics in a situation and her processing skills, allowed her to lead the groups to understand and utilize their strengths while identifying and addressing their weaknesses. With her current clients, Maki continues to employ these skills by taking the time to gain a deep level of understanding of each clients business, their current processes as well as their plans and goals for the future. From this shared vision, she works with her clients as a team to achieve those goals in a financially sound way.
In her role as managing partner, Maki has helped businesses of all sizes to achieve their targets of efficiency, profitability and expansion. She fully recognizes that business owners rely upon their financial statements to understand the status of company profitability and cash flow. In addition, she conducts audits and validates business process systems and procedures. This information provides her clients the necessary tools and resources to monitor and operate in a successful and thoughtful manner. Peak excels at working with a diverse client base with varying business activities. This client base allows Peak to continue growing its knowledge base of best practices for developing and delivering reliable information.
Under her leadership, analytical and business acumen, Peak has grown to include new and improved service offerings. Maki and her team of skilled, talented, honest and dedicated professionals, provide consulting services in the areas of Financial Management, Human Resources and Payroll Management. Her business clients include; medical practices, advertising groups, electricians, fitness clubs, property management groups, general contractors and other business fields.

Personal Interests:
Maki is an avid hiker, rock climber and enjoys mountaineering. She and her husband spent 5 months mountaineering in South America from the southern tip of Chili to Peru. Maki has a dedicated yoga practice spanning 12 years. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband Matt, daughter Maya, and dog Ruby.
